CTS Recycle

Protect Your Data then Protect the Planet

At CTS,  we know the environment matters—but your data matters even more.

Every hard drive and storage device holds potential vulnerabilities — without proper handling, your data isn’t safe.

We safeguard your data as our top priority, then ensure it’s recycled in the most eco responsible way.

Step 1: Secure Your Data

• Physical Destruction (Best Protection)
CTS can remove and physically destroy your hard drives. Once destroyed, the data is gone forever—eliminating any risk of breaches and keeping your business safe.

  • Certified Data Wiping (Cost Effective Option)
For a lower cost solution, CTS uses advanced software to securely wipe drives (Sanitize), ensuring no recoverable data remains.

We’ll walk you through both options in detail and recommend the solution that best fits your needs.

Step 2: Decide What’s Next for Your Equipment

Options

Action

Task to be completed.

Recycle

CTS will recycle your equipment in full compliance with environmental standards — giving you peace of mind that devices are safely and sustainably processed.

CTS can provide full documentation detailing the specifications of recycled computers.

If documentation isn’t required, CTS will simply arrange pickup and handle the recycling process.

Donation

If your computers are still current, you may be able to donate them to a charity or nonprofit. This benefits the community and may qualify you for a tax deduction.

Many charities lack technical resources, so replacement hard drives and Windows installation are typically required.

CTS can provide both the drives and the labor to install the hardware and load Windows, ensuring the computers are donation ready.

Resell

Selling your computer is possible, depending on its age and price point.
Some customers also choose to sell or gift equipment to employees.

•  To prepare a computer for resale, a hard drive and Windows installation may be needed.

CTS can assist with setup to maximize resale success.

Step 3: The Options

Additional Documentation

Some organizations need enhanced Documentation.

Here is what CTS Can Offer :

Warranty Uplift is a Must

Extending your warranty is often a smart, low‑cost investment.

Donation Benefit: In many cases, the expense of a warranty extension is minimal — and if the equipment is donated, that cost may be tax‑deductible.

Resale Advantage: Computers with an active manufacturer’s warranty are far easier to sell and command greater buyer confidence than those without.
Bottom line: A warranty uplift protects your equipment, strengthens resale value, and can even deliver tax savings.

CTS Involvement

CTS can make the process effortless:

Charity Donations: We’ll locate and deliver your equipment to a qualified charity, and provide you with a donation receipt for your records.

Consignment Sales: We’ll assist with pricing, marketing, and selling your computer to ensure you get maximum value.
